Boys and Girs Lacrosse Spring Program Information Grades K-8

Boys and Girls Lightning: Grades K-2

Introduction to lacrosse that will focus on stick-handling, passing, catching, shooting and game concepts using a variety of fun drills and activities. During the season we will schedule games and a jamboree with other area towns.
Typically there is one weekend day practice and an occasional weekday practice.
Boys and Girls Equipment Provided

 

Registration Fee: $50 + $30 US Lacrosse Fee (includes a new lacrosse stick, tee-shirt, and the use of a helmet and gloves for the season)

Boys and Girls Bantam: Grades 2-4  (Players in grade 2 are only eligible with league approval)

The Bantam program builds on the fundamentals taught in the lightning division.  Basic skill development is the goal of the Bantam program.  Catching, scooping, cradling, passing and shooting will be emphasized.  Players will learn how to play lacrosse as a team.  Players learn these skills during practices and games played against other teams in the CVYL\CVYGL.  
Typically there is a 2-3 day weekly commitment (practices and/or games).


Registration Fee: $95 + $30 US Lacrosse Fee   (includes use of a helmet) *Equipment Available for boys. Girls are required to provide have their own goggles\stick.

Boys and Girls Junior:  Grades 5-6  

In the Junior program advanced skills are developed. Games are played against other members within the CVYL\CVYGL. Typically there is a 2-3 day weekly commitment (practices and/or games). 


Registration Fee: $95 + $30 US Lacrosse Fee  

Boys and Girls Senior: Grades 7-8

The Senior program seeks to advance the skills of players further as they prepare for play at the high school level. Games are played against other members within the CVYL\CVYGL.
Typically there is a 2-4 day weekly commitment (practices and/or games).


Registration Fee: $95 + $30 US Lacrosse Fee 


 
Vernon Lacrosse teams play in the Connecticut Valley Youth Lacrosse League and Connecticut Valley Youth Girls Lacrosse League (CVYL\CVYGL) and travel within CT and MA is required.

BOYS EQUIPMENT RETURNS ARE HERE!!!!

 

Any player that has equipment from a previous season may drop it off on the following days:

       Thursday, January 23rd anytime during the day or evening until 8:00pm

         Friday, January 24th anytime during the day or evening until 8:00pm

Saturday, January 25th from 10:00am-5:00pm

Vernon Lacrosse Association Mission Statement

Vernon Lacrosse Association (VLA) is a 501 c3 non-profit, volunteer organization whose mission is to promote the game of lacrosse in the town of Vernon-Rockville, Connecticut and surrounding towns.  VLA provides children of all backgrounds and abilities, the opportunity to develop skills and game knowledge in a fun and safe environment.  Through positive coaching, VLA enhances each member's skills and values in life by promoting its core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.
